The church's desire is to love and lead ALL people into life changing worship, for those who follow Christ and for those that are still seeking. Also, the ministry is made up of volunteers…just like you. If you have a love of music and the arts and are looking for an exciting, joyous place to begin serving, please take a closer look at the opportunities listed in this section of the website site.

Deep Creek Worship Choir
If you have a passion for worship and a desire to help lead the church in praise...then come join the Deep Creek Worship Choir! As a Deep Creek member, you have the opportunity to be part of one of the most dynamic ministries in the church. We are seeking people who have a passion for praise to come along beside us as we lead the church family in worship.

Being a part of the Deep Creek Worship Choir will not only change your life, but you will also be directly involved in impacting countless lives for the glory of God.  From the annual Christmas and Easter productions to the recording of new albums, to the priority of leading weekly worship – the Deep Creek Worship Choir is a high impact ministry.

You can be a member of the Deep Creek Worship Choir!  Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. in the Choir Rehearsal Room. Come by, check us out and see if the Worship Ministry is where God is leading you!

Deep Creek Worship Orchestra
If you are an experienced player who wants to use the gifts and talents the Lord has blessed you with, the Deep Creek Worship Orchestra may be for you!  Being involved in the Orchestra or Praise Band will challenge you musically, but most importantly, you will be challenged spiritually and you will be blessed as you bless others.

The most important requirement to join any of the instrumental groups is that you have a heart willing to serve others.  We also ask that you have at least two years of experience playing your instrument.  The Orchestra's primary function is to accompany the choir.  "The orchestra provides the support, the background during worship," says Justin Hornsby, Worship Pastor. "It creates the feeling of what the music is all about. It sets the tone and creates all the underpinnings of what the vocalists can do. We want it to be as good as if you were listening to a recording."

Be a part of this incredible ensemble!  Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. in the Worship Center.  If you are interested in finding out more, or if you want to attend a rehearsal, please call the church office at 757-487-2182 or e-mail jhornsby@deepcreekbaptist.org

Other Opportunities to Serve
Praise Teams
Our 8:15 & 11:00 services are led each week by one of the several praise teams.  If you feel God has gifted you as a vocalist and have a heart for leading people in worship, please call Justin Hornsby at 757-487-2182 to set up an audition.

Crossover Band
The Crossover service, fully contemporary in style, is led by a talented worship band of guitars, both acoustic and electric.  If you feel God has gifted you in these areas, please call Justin Hornsby at 757-487-2182 to set up an audition.

Sound & Media
One of the most exciting and growing areas of ministry in the church is "Sound & Media." God created light, beautiful sights and sounds; and He created us to worship Him! So, it is good that we use these elements in worshipping God. Colossians 1:16 says God created everything for Him, so we want to use sights and sounds to honor, glorify and celebrate our Savior.

At Deep Creek, we use high quality audio, video and lighting systems to enhance and give clarity to our worship services and special presentations. We use servant/volunteers, who work behind-the-scenes, to run these systems. The areas of service include audio, camera operation, video editing and graphics, lighting, media duplication/distribution, and stage set-up.

Getting connected with the "Sound and Media" is easy. No experience is needed; we train every one. The volunteers work one to two Sundays and Wednesdays a month,  giving them the opportunity during the other weeks to worship with their friends and family.
